Animal Treasure Island was rebuilt from the ground up with a bold new creative direction, using the latest technology to retain the spirit of the original while transforming it into a modern, cinematic experience. Every creative and technical decision was made with care: to respect what guests remembered, and to create a world that feels new, alive, and unmistakably XOrdinary. The result is one of the longest and most immersive dark rides in the world. An eight-and-a-half-minute journey through nineteen fully realised scenes. We used 39 projectors, multiple LED screens and giant projection surfaces up to 180 m² to bring the world to life. Our 2D and 3D artists animated the characters and scenes using motion-captured performances recorded in our own studio, giving every moment a sense of realism and energy. From story beats to environmental design, the focus was always on immersion - on making guests feel as though they’ve stepped inside an animated film.

Innovation & Technology
We introduced new production techniques such as squinching to ensure media mapped perfectly onto the set geometry from every seat. Behind the visuals, we developed new content - review pipelines that let creative and technical teams work together in real time. Seeing, adjusting and approving every shot exactly as it would appear in show. Sound and effects were treated as equal parts of the storytelling. More than 250 individually addressed speakers build a true 3D spatial mix, with every channel contributing its own detail to the overall soundscape. Water effects, scent, mist, low fog and timed explosions were layered in sync with projection and lighting to turn each scene into a living environment. The result is an experience that surrounds guests from every direction creating a seamless blend of sight, sound and sensation that makes the world of Animal Treasure Island feel tangible and alive.
Reliability & Delivery
From design through installation, every element was built for precision and daily performance. A unified show-control backbone synchronises projection, lighting, audio and special effects with sub-frame accuracy, ensuring that every ride cycle plays perfectly. The system has been operating flawlessly, proving both its resilience and its impact with guests. Animal Treasure Island stands as a showcase of what happens when creativity, technology and discipline move together - a reimagined classic that continues to delight audiences and demonstrates the XOrdinary standard in every frame.
