Animal Treasure Island transforms Gardaland’s beloved I Corsari into a bold, character-led adventure for a new generation. Guests join Captain Nine Lives and her crew on an eight-and-a-half-minute journey through nineteen fully realised scenes, blending cinematic storytelling with immersive technology. The attraction carefully retains the spirit and key elements of the original, while introducing a completely new narrative world brought to life through projection, scenic environments, animatronics, spatial audio, water, scent, and atmospheric effects. The result feels classic and brand new at the same time, and has become Gardaland’s highest-rated guest experience in more than ten years.
Scale & Artistry
This is one of the longest dark ride experiences in Europe. Nineteen scenes, 39 projectors, multiple LED screens, and projection surfaces up to 180 square metres. The physical sets remain central. Projection extends environments and animates characters rather than replacing scenic work. Motion capture recorded in our own studio gives performances weight and timing, helping the world feel cohesive across media and physical elements. Innovation & Technology
Media and scenic were developed together to ensure precise alignment throughout the ride path. Advanced projection mapping techniques maintain depth and perspective from every seat. More than 250 individually addressed speakers deliver a fully spatial 3D audio mix that shifts with the vehicle’s movement. Lighting, water, scent, mist, low fog, and timed effects are synchronised through a unified show-control system with sub-frame accuracy.
